CLIENT is the leading outsource solution for e-commerce. The Multichannel product team within the Commerce Exchange department is building applications to break down the walls between on-line Web Stores, Brick-and-Mortar store, print catalogs, mobile and social networking.

CLIENT is seeking bright, motivated Software Engineers to work as a member of the Java/J2EE-based Commerce Exchange teams building the next generation of our products and services.

As a member of this cross-functional development team, Software Engineers work closely with Database, Architecture, Quality Assurance, Product Management and other software teams to implement new and existing products and services. Software Engineers participate in all phases of product development including: planning, analysis, design, development, testing and ongoing support.
Software Engineer 4 is a customer-facing position. The engineer is innovative, consistent, and contributes beyond assigned tasks, actively seeking accountability. The engineer's competence extends to architecture, user interface design, project planning, documentation, and other release-level issues.

Responsibilities
Implement new features, components, and services from specs employing Java-based technologies with little direct supervision.
Participate in requirements analysis and development planning activities.
Assist in resolving testing and production issues when they arise.
Promote highly-collaborative, team-oriented environment, working closely with all levels of product development staff and third-party development teams.
Promote industry best practices regarding design and development standards; drives adherence to these rules on all engagements
Ensures that projects are conducted in ways that benefit project objectives, people participating in the project, and company's long-term interests
Reviews others' work and mentors others
Routinely leads large teams of engineers
Minimum Requirements:
BS in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent (MS or PhD preferred)
10+ years experience programming Core Java, JSP and J2EE technologies
Coding experience using Web-presentation technologies (HTML, CSS, Javascript), SQL scripting, and Unix scripting.
Solid grasp of software development lifecycle best-practices, methods, and conventions, including but not limited to Test Driven Development, Source Code Management, Continuous Integration, Domain Driven Design, and Dependency Management.
Consistently had major success during participation in all aspects of small and large projects and has been essential to those projects' successes
Desirable Requirements:
Experience in e-commerce application development.
Experience working with or developing Open Source projects.
Experience refactoring existing systems to design patterns.
Experience with Oracle 10g or higher, Web Logic 10 or higher.
Experience with MuleESB.

Channel Architects
The Channel Architects have a dotted line reporting relationship to the Chief Architect. Within GTS there are two profiles of channel architects – Process focused and Technical. Their functions are very similar to those of the Core Architects listed in the section before. Most channel architects in GTS perform the architecture function on a part-time basis, whereas only a few have architecture as their full time responsibility.
Channel Architects – Technical Activities
Channel architects have direct responsibility for architecture design and subsequent development adherence for all assigned programs within their SMT area. They are expected to demonstrate expertise in at least one engineering or process domain.
Functions
Review/create and approve the program’s technical design.
Assist in the development of an application’s data model.
Review a project’s impact on the application’s technology stack.
Determine/raise critical technical issues to Chief Architect.
Understand the technical aspects of the infrastructure environment (host consolidation, improving performance of existing applications, identifying system bottlenecks, improving testing mechanisms for their applications, etc).
Review, select and submit for approval new tools to be included in the application technology stack.
Identify enhancements to the architecture framework.
Inform the Chief Architect when they feel that a project is not adhering to standards or guidelines.
Channel Architects – Organizational Activities
Channel Architects generally have direct reporting relationships to either an SMT, an application group manager, or an application manager. In their respective capacities, they are expected to perform a number of tasks that serve both their immediate reporting sphere as well as the overall architecture organization.
Provide input to the regional Technology Roadmap.
Participate in Local and Global Peer Reviews.
Monitor SMT area compliance with ICG architecture development policies and standards.
Participate in architectural working groups where applicable.
Raise any unresolved process issues with the Chief Architect.
Channel Architects – Application Activities
Channel Architects have direct responsibility for some or all technology decisions relating to their assigned applications. They are responsible to maintain compliance with GTS standards for the technology stack, for system design and for monitoring development adherence to design. They may own these responsibilities completely for a given application, or share them with a team of architects serving an SMT area.
Functions
Review, create, assess and plan for the architecture in addition to other considerations such as performance, fault tolerance, security, etc.
Ensure that the application has deployment, systems, technical and information architecture documents in the PTS-W repository.
Review and ensure the application technology stack reflects the production state.
Proactively evolve an application’s technology stack in alignment with GTS technical standards set by the Chief Architect.
Proactively review TRAMS reports queries/data for issues.
Ensure compliance with policy and standards for application technology stack end of life (EOL), risk assessment (RA) and corrective action plan (CAP) governance for assigned applications.
Ensure that any remediation and risk management plans are aligned with the strategic technology direction for the lines of business that the Chief Architect supports.
Review application updates during the annual CSI data quality review.
Resolve any compliance issues directly or through appropriate party who is accountable.
As part of the annual budget process, assist the Application Manager in establishing and annual review of a risk management plan for any end-of-life artifact, and assists them in establishing such plans if they do not exist.
Raise any issues or concerns that should be attended to by the Chief Architect.
Channel Architects – Program Activities
Channel Architects are responsible for ensuring programs adhere to standard architecture development practice. They schedule and chair Local and Global Peer Reviews for their programs. Typically, Architects will be assigned to all full development projects where they are responsible for the associated application.
Functions
Review, create, assess and plan for the architecture in addition to other considerations such as performance, fault tolerance, security, etc.
Ensure a consistent design methodology for assigned programs.
Lead the development of the technical roadmap for any assigned applications.
Ensure that the Architecture process is followed for development projects in which the Architect is assigned.
Execute architecture Peer Reviews for any assigned programs.

The main purpose of the role:

To manage projects in accordance with CLIENT’s Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This person leads a group of project participants to collectively complete project deliverables in accordance with schedules defined in the project plan. This individual also works with other Citi organizations to ensure all CLIENT CITMP processes and policies are adhered to during the course of managing projects. This includes Information Security, Legal and Architectural reviews where necessary.

Summary of the main day-to-day activities of the position:
· Creating, maintaining and tracking progress in a project plan.
· Facilitate project meetings, and produce agendas and minutes.
· Ensure the project deliverables are loaded into the project tracking system (PTS) according to timelines defined by CLIENT’s project management process.
· Ensure key application artifacts are loaded in the Citi System Inventory (CSI).
· Manage project risk registers and issue logs.
· Coordinate the delivery of technical deliverables such as technical design documents, Development Test Plans, etc. with SMEs from various departments within CLIENT.
· Work closely with Client Manager’s on deliverables required from their organization (e.g. Business Requirements Document) and to obtain necessary approvals on all deliverables.
· Work with CLIENT Architecture team to conduct Technology Peer Reviews and to validate proposed solution designs.
· Coordinate testing activities with CLIENT UAT.
· Fiscal Responsibilities & Reporting for all projects,

· Provide regular status updates to multiple levels of management.
· Complete Information Security reviews and questionnaires and review with Technology and Business Information Security Officers.

Technical/business knowledge, experience, and skills (certifications, programming languages, etc.):
· Financial Industry experience or Banking knowledge preferred.
· ITIL and PMP a plus, but not required.
· Working knowledge of Java and J2EE application architecture a plus.
· Candidate must have come up through the ranks within a Technology organization. Ideally have a development background, but does not need code for this job.

Non-technical knowledge, experience, and skills (leadership, management, oral and/or written communication, etc.):
· Requires at least 5 years experience managing projects within Electronic Billing, Cash Management, and/or Financial Services industries.
· Experiences in managing projects with a Global wide Stakeholders and Clients
· Experiences in managing Remote (offshore) Project team(s).
· Oral and written communication skills are critical as this individual will host meetings that include various levels of management and provide written status reports to that same audience.

Educational requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree required.
· PMI Membership and/or PMP Certification Preferred
